This woman is just under 30 but is breaking grounds with this digital recruitment strategy in her own firm

These days, especially because of the pandemic, the recruitment operations by most employers haven't been easy. Candidates start to realize that they have a lot of options in the job market and this is mostly because the shift to a digital workplace leveled the playing field significantly. Rightfully so, candidates can choose the path that best fits their goals and needs. Given this, employers need to start thinking of ways to get the talent market to love them back again or at least see the former as good prospects for career development.

Back in October 2020, the President and CEO of a career development and empowerment firm named Danica Octa conducted a webinar about Building a Strong Digital Recruitment Strategy which was in partnership with KMC Solutions.

Recognizing that everything is going digital, Octa emphasized on the importance of producing meaningful content by HR professionals to attract talent that share the same values and vision with the organization. It can be a webinar or an interactive online workshop or even as simple as articles, posters, and videos. The pandemic has shifted the way we navigate the world and content is an extremely valuable factor in building good relationships with any kind of stakeholder. Creating content that comforts and eases the audience results to high returns and faster conversion. This is very much important in the talent acquisition scene especially when time is a scarce resource and human capital is a dire need for companies that want to thrive in their industries.

“It will make [candidates] feel like you really want to help them get a job, which is very friendly, which is very approachable. Chances are, you will get the leads that you need,” explains Octa.

One of the things that Octa suggested to the more than 60 attendees of that valuable and insightful webinar is that HR professionals need to learn how to host educational career events that equip the talent market with the right tools to succeed in the job hunt. Octa shares that not only is this for the benefit of the candidates, but also impacts employers. This is because candidates shine the most when they know how to communicate their value better in their resumes and interviews. Not only that, but to host industry career talks that give a lot of information about the job market and how each industry works in an ever evolving market will end up with a lot of more enlightened candidates. This is important for both the candidates and employers to thrive. She also shares that truth be told, not knowing how to navigate around the job market and certain industries has always been that big gap in employment.

“If you don’t teach your candidates how to talk properly during an interview, you yourself will have a hard time understanding if they’re the right fit. The problem with that is, just because of their bad communication skills, you’ll reject them. What if they’re a really good candidate? That’s a waste of opportunity for you. You would have to spend some time finding another person,” said Octa.
