Nineteen local government units (LGUs) across the country, including several major cities, have been confirmed to have established their respective automated, electronic business one-stop shops (eBoss), the Anti-red Tape Authority (Arta) said on Wednesday.

Arta Secretary Ernesto Perez said in an interview with PTV4 that this was the number of LGUs that they have so far validated, out of the 630 LGUs that reported having done so.

The list of LGUs includes the cities of Manila, Marikina, Quezon, Navotas, Valenzuela, Muntinlupa, Paranaque, Malabon and Pasay in the National Capital Region.

Outside Metro Manila, the LGUs that have their automated eBoss include the cities of San Fernando in Pampanga, Ilagan in Isabela, Batangas, Lapu-Lapu, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Balanga and Legazpi.

Completing the list are the towns of Ubay in Bohol and San Roque in Northern Samar.

Further, Perez said that 611 other LGUs were found to have partially automated their respective eBoss.

This means that there are more than a thousand LGUs that have yet to follow suit, as there are a total of 1,637 LGUs in the country.

Earlier, Arta cited the advantages of the eBoss through which business owners can download and upload application forms, as well as pay fees.INQ
