Actress Nikki Valdez sent out a seemingly painful goodbye to those employees who will be retrenched as ABS-CBN's franchise renewal was denied by Congress.

Posting a photo of her and a man embracing her on her Instagram page yesterday, Valdez said, "Dalawa lamang ito sa mukha ng libo libong empleyado ng [ABS-CBN] na mawawalan ng trabaho sa susunod na buwan.

(These are just two faces among the thousands of ABS-CBN employees who will lose their jobs next month. There is a possibility that it will include my husband.)

The man tagged in the photo, @hoyluisito, is Valdez's husband Luis Garcia. He also shared the same image on his own page.

She gave sharp words as well on bashers who brush their fate off by telling them to just look for other jobs.

Na huwag kami mag over react. Na kumpanya namin ang may kasalanan. Na buti nga sa [ABS-CBN] magsasara na. Yung iba nga nagdidiwang pa," she said.

(It is very easy for you to say that this did not happen to just us. That we just have to look for another job. That we should not overreact. That our company is to be blamed. That it's good that ABS-CBN will be closing. Some people are even rejoicing.)

(Hope you can say that to the employees who are being relied upon by their families, those who are supporting others, those who are studying, those who are pregnant and those families who have relatives being treated medically. I hope that you can all take care of their expenses and take care of their family's future.)

Valdez has a message too for the 70 congressmen who denied their network of the franchise renewal. She also had something to say to the government.

(This post is for you, to remind those who are rejoicing that we are finally closing down, to the 70 congressmen who voted for the franchise denial, and to the government filled with anger, and whose heart and mind are full of revenge in the midst of a messy world and a pandemic.)

In the end, as she expressed her love for her fellow Kapamilya workers, she reminded them to stay strong in faith.

Hindi mananaig ang kasamaan kahit kailanman," she assured them.

(Kapamilya, just hold on. Just trust. God has been doubted too, insulted, trampled on and renounced by those who believed in Him, which is why He knows what we are all going through now. Evil will never prevail.) JB
